This two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom house has an attached guest cottage currently used as a rental property. It’s a five-minute drive from the center of Brunswick, home to a brewery, a popular barbecue spot and a small marina on the East River. The beaches of Jekyll Island are 20 minutes away.

Jacksonville, Fla., is a little over an hour by car, and Savannah, Ga., takes less than 90 minutes.

Size: 1,516 square feet

Price per square foot: $247

Indoors: The front porch, with its ceiling fan and swing, is a comfortable outdoor sitting area in nice weather. Inside, the foyer has wainscoting along the walls and original tongue-and-groove hardwood floors, as do the living room and family room, both of which have windows that look out over the grounds.

The kitchen has pressed metal ceilings and stainless steel appliances, as well as easy access to a dining room and a screened-in porch.

The primary bedroom, off the foyer, can fit a king-size bed, and it has a decorative fireplace and a bay of windows. A half bathroom is attached. The second bedroom has its own decorative fireplace and picture-frame molding along the walls. The full bathroom has a claw-foot soaking tub and a separate shower.

Outdoor space: Off the screened-in porch is a stone patio, which faces the fenced-in backyard’s garden and mature trees. An outdoor shower is around the corner, and a driveway has three parking spots.
