Donald Trump's youngest son is one of five Trump children. His older brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are the children of the president and his first wife, Ivana Trump. Also from Donald's first marriage is Ivanka Trump, the eldest Trump daughter, who was a presidential advisor to the president during his first term in the White House. Tiffany Trump is Barron's second sister from Donald Trump's second marriage to Marla Maples.

Barron Trump's two older brothers have often been in the spotlight due to their leadership in The Trump Organization. Additionally, all four of the elder Trump children made appearances during both their father's presidential campaigns. While Barron is significantly younger than his siblings, his low profile at these important political events is notable.

Melania Trump has a long-standing nickname for her son

Barron Trump has become the spitting image of his father as he's grown up. But according to Melania Trump, Barron resembles his father in other ways, so much so that she has a special nickname for him. "He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants," she revealed to Parenting (via Romper). "He is a mixture of us in looks, but his personality is why I call him 'Little Donald.'"

Melania also noted that "Little Donald" admires his father's career and success. "He likes the way he talks, the way he is," she continued. "They have beautiful respect and admiration for each other."  Barron has also been known to emulate his father's looks and mannerisms. As the first lady told ABC News in 2013, Barron "doesn't mind putting on" a suit, and that even as a small child, he liked to "dress up in a tie sometimes, like Daddy."

Barron Trump and his mother speak in her native language

Thanks to his mother's native country and language, Barron Trump is multilingual; he speaks both Slovenian and English. Additionally, his mother told People in 2009 that Barron also speaks French, making him a trilingual toddler at the time. 

According to Mary Jordan, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "The Art of Her Deal" (a book about Melania Trump and her life), Barron continues to speak to his mother in Slovenian to this day. This even happens in front of the Secret Service, a unique fact of life when they were living in the White House. "There's a unit within the family unit, and it's Melania, her mother, her father, and Barron," Jordan told CBS News. "And they all speak Slovenian." That means that no one in the Secret Service can understand what they're saying, either.

Jordan also revealed how Barron and Melania's conversations in Slovenian impacted Donald Trump, who, unlike his son, did not learn his wife's native language. "He has said it annoys him sometimes, 'cause he has no idea what they're saying," Jordan added.

Donald Trump and Barron Trump enjoy hitting the golf courses together

Donald Trump wasn't the first president to play golf in his off-time, but he's certainly super dedicated to the sport. He doesn't just play golf, either, as he's the proud owner of 11 Trump-branded golf properties in the United States alone.

It's not too surprising, then, that the president and his youngest son spend time on the links together. Donald golfs frequently and is often joined by family members, including Barron Trump and his siblings. Additionally, two sources close to the president told Politico that he used his golf weekends to bond with Barron. "I've seen Barron out there with him on a few occasions," one Trump friend told Politico. "He's a good athlete by his own right." 

From the looks of it, Barron has hit the golf course with his dad even before his time in the White House, too. In 2014, Melania Trump posted a photo of the pair on her Facebook page, while they golfed at the Trump golf property in Scotland.

For the first six months of Trump's first presidency, Barron and his mother lived in New York

Children are no strangers to the White House. Donald Trump's predecessor, Barack Obama, had two young daughters when he took office, and many children and teens have lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue during past administrations. 

But when Donald won the 2016 election, Melania Trump made it clear that she and Barron Trump would not immediately be moving from their Manhattan penthouse. That's because she didn't want to interrupt Barron in the middle of his school year. Officials also said that Melania and Donald Trump's youngest son would remain in New York for at least six months.

While Melania also worried about exposing Barron to the scrutiny of the press, the pair finally moved to Washington, D.C. in June 2017. However, Melania remained cautious of the decision; she was reluctant to relocate not just because of Barron's schooling, but also due to her love of New York City.

He was the first boy to live in the White House since JFK Jr.

Many children have lived in the White House over the years, but for quite some time, only presidential daughters have resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. President Barack Obama had two daughters, as did President George W. Bush. Before that, President Bill Clinton had a daughter as well. 

In fact, Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, was the first son to move into the White House in over 50 years. The last son to reside there was John F. Kennedy Jr., whose father was assassinated in 1963 when he was just 2 years old.

When Donald won the election in 2016, presidential expert and author Kate Andersen Brower told CNN that Melania Trump would benefit from speaking to former first ladies about their experiences raising children in the White House — Hillary Clinton asked Jackie Kennedy for advice when she moved into the White House with Bill and Chelsea Clinton.

Former first children have defended Donald Trump's son against critics and trolls

Despite differences in political parties, several former first children have jumped to Barron Trump's defense when he was targeted by mean-spirited commentators. Criticism of Barron's appearance and demeanor started as early as his father's inauguration.

For one, former first child Chelsea Clinton quickly defended Donald Trump's youngest son after the inauguration in 2017. "Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does — to be a kid," she shared on X. She also stood up for Barron in August of that year, after the Daily Caller criticized his wardrobe. "It's high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves," she tweeted.

Clinton wasn't the only former first child to defend Barron's honor, either. Jenna Bush Hager told People that the unwarranted criticism from the Daily Caller made her angry. "The truth is, obviously, Barron Trump didn't ask his dad to run for president," she said. "It wasn't his decision." 

Melania Trump is very protective of her son

First Lady Melania Trump has made Donald Trump's youngest son her priority from the start. That's something she takes very seriously, especially when it comes to Barron Trump's safety. Most notably, after actor Peter Fonda tweeted that Barron should be removed from his family (in an attempt to bring attention to the immigration crisis in the United States), Melania reported him to the Secret Service. The tweet garnered significant outrage and was later deleted.

Barron has since been the subject of more unwarranted criticism, much to the ire of his mother. So when Stanford law professor Pamela S. Karlan made a derogatory comment about Barron during his father's impeachment trial, Melania fired back. "A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics," she tweeted after the professor joked about Barron's lack of nobility. "Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it." While it doesn't appear that Melania reported Karlan to the Secret Service, Karlan did apologize for her remarks.

Barron Trump has a passion for soccer

As he grew into a teenager, Barron Trump's interest in soccer was well documented. In 2017, Barron Trump was fortunate enough to meet players from the D.C. United team while they were visiting the White House; he chatted with forward Patrick Mullins and midfielders Julian Buescher and Marcelo Sarvas about the game. 

The team then gave Barron a black and red colored soccer ball that had been signed by the team. "He was very knowledgeable about soccer, knew about D.C. United and was interested to know more," Mullins told The Washington Post shortly after meeting Barron. "[For a] little kid to have a passion for the game and to be knowledgeable and have a conversation with us, it makes me feel good about kids growing up playing the game." His passion for the sport didn't stop there. In 2017, Barron became a soccer player for the United States Soccer's Development Academy, and even scored a position on D.C. United's U-12 team.

Donald Trump's youngest son appears to be a sneakerhead

Like many other American adolescence, Donald Trump's youngest son appears to be a sneakerhead. In fact, Barron Trump made sneakers one of his notable fashion statements after moving into the White House. As for what his favorite pair of kicks appear to be, Barron is a fan of the 574 Core sneakers from New Balance, according to Footwear News.

Barron has sported those sneakers on more than one occasion, too. He was photographed in early 2020 wearing the sneakers in black, paired with black jeans and a bomber jacket. A couple of weeks earlier, he was spotted wearing a different pair of shoes with what appeared to be reflective detailing. Then, during Thanksgiving festivities in 2019, Barron rocked an all-black edition of his favorite sneakers. In March 2019, the presidential child was seen wearing a camel-colored version of the same style, after wearing a gray and white pair the year before. It's safe to say that Barron has found his footwear of choice.

One country gifted Barron Trump a horse

It's not uncommon for international leaders and governments to bestow gifts upon the president and his family as a gesture of good will. According to The Washington Post, these gifts have "symbolized the friendship and journey shared between countries," and are often seen as tools of international diplomacy. 

Historically, some of these gifts were actual animals, too. While in office, President Ronald Reagan received a baby elephant from Sri Lanka, President George H. W. Bush received a Komodo dragon from Indonesia, and President Richard Nixon and his wife were gifted two pandas from China.

To that end, it may not come as much of a shock to learn that Donald Trump's youngest son received a horse from Mongolia in 2019. Mongolia has often given horses as special presents to its dignitaries. Barron Trump's horse, named Victory, will remain in Mongolia but is "beautiful" according to Barron. Stephanie Grisham, the press secretary at the time, said that the family was "very grateful" for the gift (via NBC News).

After a growth spurt, Donald Trump's youngest son towers over his father

Given that Barron Trump's public appearances are few and far between, any changes to his height or stature are easily noticeable when he does emerge into view. So when Barron Trump emerged from Marine One with his parents in August 2020 — and towered over his father's height of 6 feet, 3 inches — the internet went a little wild. "Does anyone know if he can play ball?" one X user asked. 

Barron's height shouldn't be too much of a surprise, though, given his parents' statures; his dad is over 6 feet tall and Melania Trump is 5 feet, 11 inches. Clearly, Barron has had a growth spurt. Who knows? Maybe Donald Trump's youngest son will trade his soccer ball for a basketball in the near future.

Barron Trump tested positive for COVID-19

On October 2, 2020, then-president Donald Trump was sent to Walter Reed Hospital after contracting COVID-19. He made a speedy recovery at the hospital and was back in the Oval Office by October 7. But while the president's battle with COVID-19 caught the most headline attention, he was not the only member of the first family to contract the virus. First Lady Melania Trump and their son Barron Trump also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Like many parents, Melania's main concern was always for her son's health. In an essay later quoted by the Independent, Melania opened up about her experience with the virus and her fears as a mother. After testing positive herself, Melania said, "Naturally, my mind went immediately to our son. To our great relief he tested negative ... I couldn't help but think 'What about tomorrow or the next day?'"

Barron Trump was tested for COVID-19 again over the next couple of days, and his mother's fears came true when he tested positive for the virus. Fortunately, Barron was a lucky case, and although he contracted the virus, he remained asymptomatic. "In one way I was glad the three of us went through this at the same time so we could take care of one another and spend time together. He has since tested negative," his mother wrote of the experience.

Barron Trump was absent from his father's farewell speech

In January 2021, the Trumps officially exited the White House, boarding Air Force One to head to Florida and leaving the residence vacant for the Biden administration to take over. President Donald Trump's exit seemed to be a family affair, with his wife, Melania Trump, by his side as he made his farewell speech. Trump's children, Ivanka, Donald Jr., Tiffany, and Eric Trump, attended with their partners and children to show their support. However, one member of the family was noticeably missing. Trump's youngest son Barron Trump was nowhere to be seen.

The 45th president made his send-off speech on the tarmac, telling the crowd, "Have a good life ... We will see you soon," before he and Melania boarded the plane. According to People, Melania and Donald's teenage son was on Air Force One flying with them to Florida but was not present for the speech or seen going onto the plane with his parents. 

As the youngest of Trump's children and Melania's only child, the family, particularly his mother, was quite protective of Barron throughout Trump's time in the White House. His absence from the farewell may have just been another way for Melania to shield her teenage son from the spotlight.

The youngest Trump kid enrolled in a private school in Florida after leaving the White House

After leaving the White House in 2021, the Trump family spent most of their time in Palm Beach, Florida, residing at their members-only Mar-a-Lago Club. Although Melania and Barron Trump previously spent most of their time in New York, they seemed to have settled in Florida. The move to the Sunshine State became solidified when Barron was enrolled in a private school in the area.

The elite private school, Oxbridge Academy, announced Barron's enrollment into their class of 2024. Director of Advancement Scott Siegfried, stated, "We look forward to welcoming him into our school and community." The news was later confirmed to People by a spokesperson from Trump's team.

Elite schooling comes with a large price tag, with the annual tuition costing $43,400 with an additional yearly fee of $2,500, according to the Oxbridge Academy website. Before Barron started at the school, the institution sent out an email informing parents that he would be accompanied by a small group of Secret Service agents for protection. "We are working directly with the Secret Service to ensure that logistics and security work smoothly and discreetly with little impact on students, faculty, staff, or day-to-day operations," they wrote (via the Associated Press).

Barron Trump stood in support of his father's 2024 campaign announcement

When Donald Trump officially launched his 2024 presidential campaign in November 2022, his youngest son Barron Trump stood in support of his father. After losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden, Donald Trump announced from the ballroom of his Mar-a-Lago resort that he would campaign for office again in 2024.

Although he didn't speak during the event, Barron was quite noticeable as he had grown taller than his father and siblings. According to Business Insider, Barron Trump entered the ballroom with his siblings, Eric Trump, Eric's wife Lara Trump, and Jared Kushner, the husband of Ivanka Trump. However, while Barron stepped up to support his father, other family members were notably absent. Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump had been huge supporters of their father's political career, but neither were present on this night. A source told The Daily Beast that Donald Jr. was on a hunting trip, which he couldn't return in time due to bad weather conditions.

However, Ivanka's absence seems to have been more purposeful as she hoped to stay out of politics during the 2024 campaign. In a statement posted by The Daily Beast, she said, "I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family." Ivanka stepping out of the spotlight inevitably made way for Barron to stand out more in public appearances throughout the 2024 campaign cycle.

Throughout his father's trial, Barron Trump stayed out of the public eye

Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign was somewhat dampened by his indictment for allegedly paying hush money to adult entertainer Stormy Daniels. Rather than rallying together, many members of the Trump family were doing their best to stay out of public while Donald Trump faced a legal battle. 

A source told People that his wife, Melania Trump, was "angry and doesn't want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned. She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat." Rather than spending time with her husband during the scandal, she's choosing to focus her energy on close friends, her parents, and of course, her son.

Melania had been protective of Barron Trump throughout her husband's legal battle. The pair of them kept a low profile, mostly staying close to home. "His mom is protective of him but he is free around Mar-a-Lago. They are low-key with their socializing," a source told the outlet.

As Donald Trump's son, Barron has received death threats

Although Melania Trump has done her best to shield Barron Trump from the public eye, being the son of a public figure like Donald Trump has come with challenges and put Barron in harm's way. Many politicians have dealt with frightening situations such as death threats, and Donald Trump is no exception. Those cases become even more frightening when they involve family, and sadly, Barron was also threatened.

In August 2023, a woman was arrested for making death threats to both Trump and his youngest son. According to CBS News, the 41-year-old Chicago resident, Tracy Fiorenza, was reported to authorities after allegedly sending emails to a Florida school threatening to kill Donald and Barron Trump.

Fortunately, the threat was taken very seriously in order to keep the Trump family safe. Secret Service agents apprehended the woman before the situation could escalate any further. Officials reported that the Secret Service had been monitoring the woman for years and arrested her when her threats became more serious in nature. Along with her emails getting reported, her own family members notified the authorities that they were worried about Fiorenza's stability. "Her family has expressed concern to law enforcement about her potential for violence," said a law enforcement official. "She has struggled chronically with her mental health and recently reported stopping taking her prescribed medication."

Barron Trump's height sparked a lot of conversations online

Although the Trump family frequently gets the internet abuzz, you wouldn't think sharing something as mundane as a family Christmas photo would get people talking. But that's exactly what happened when a photo of the family posed in front of a Christmas tree at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, was posted to social media. 

After looking at the smiling faces of Donald Trump, his children, and grandchildren, one thing stood out, quite literally. Despite his status as the youngest of Donald Trump's children, Barron Trump was notably taller than the rest of the group and easy to spot from his position at the back of the photo.

Barron is reported to stand at 6 feet, 7 inches, roughly 4 inches taller than his father's reported height of 6 feet, 3 inches. However, the height difference between the two is quite pronounced in the photo, causing people to speculate about Barron's peak. Reacting to the photo on X, one user wrote, "What is [Barron]? 6 foot 14?" Another user shared the photo and joked, "Barron Trump places the angel on the tree without a step ladder."

Barron Trump has faced rumors about his time at NYU

In 2024, Barron Trump moved to the Big Apple to study at New York University. Although he initially seemed excited to attend NYU, Barron was not always well received at the prestigious school. For one thing, its student body tends to be left-leaning — a fact that former NYU Republican club president Kaya Walker once called an "uphill battle" for campus conservatives in an interview with the New York Post. For another, NYU Republicans didn't seem to click with Barron either. As Walker famously told Vanity Fair of Barron in an April 2025 interview, "He's sort of like an oddity on campus. He goes to class, he goes home."

All this bad publicity has, unfortunately, led to some pretty nasty rumors about Barron's time at school. Some social media posts have alleged that Barron only chose NYU after receiving a rejection letter from Harvard University — despite the fact-checking site Snopes having reported that there is no evidence to support these claims. 

The 2025 fall semester, meanwhile, ushered in rumors that Barron had dropped out of NYU. In reality, a university official told People that Barron remained enrolled in NYU, but had chosen to spend a semester at one of the school's campuses in another city. Speaking on his granddaughter Kai Trump's YouTube vlog, President Donald Trump indirectly addressed the rumors about Barron. "He's doing good [at NYU]," Trump said. "He's a good boy." 

Barron might have taken a special date to Trump Tower

Sources claim Barron Trump has been pretty successful in the romance department. One source told Page Six that Barron actually took a date to Trump Tower, although the outing may not have gone as smoothly as planned. The insider claimed that an entire floor of Trump Tower had to be shut down to ensure that Barron and his date would be protected by maximum security. Talk about an awkward dating moment.

Luckily for Barron, however, campus sources say that he has received plenty of romantic interest since starting NYU. An insider even told People, "He's tall and handsome. A lot of people seem to think he's pretty attractive — yes, even liberal people like him." This same source said that Barron is overall popular with women on campus. "He's a ladies man for sure. He's really popular with the ladies," they said. Barron Trump's towering stature is said to be a real hit on the dating scene, but having a famous family certainly hasn't hurt either. As for the special someone who Barron took to Trump Tower? As of publication, their identity remains a mystery.

Barron Trump has earned a lot of money since Donald Trump started his second presidency

Student life hasn't prevented the youngest Trump kid from making a buck — or a million. Barron Trump actually made millions before entering his 20s – generating both admiration and controversy. Barron sold $40 million worth of cryptocurrency while he was still technically a teenager. After taxes, this would have left him with a massive $25 million payday. No wonder Barron Trump lives an extremely lavish life.

Barron developed an interest in cryptocurrency before his father, President Donald Trump, even knew what it was. At the launch of the Trump family cryptocurrency company, World Liberty Financial, the president revealed, "Barron knows so much about this. Barron's a young guy, but he knows it — he talks about his wallet. He's got four wallets or something, and I'm saying,'What is a wallet?'" (via Forbes).

Of course, it didn't take Donald long to get in on the cryptocurrency game himself. According to the same report in Forbes, the president has accumulated approximately $1 billion in crypto during his second presidency, establishing Barron as one of his father's primary cryptocurrency advisors. "Barron has been actively working on his own financial interests and has spent time with others who he is involved with in that area," an insider told People. Another source told the publication that Barron likes "making money."

Barron Trump might join TikTok's board of directors

Under President Donald Trump, the rules surrounding the use of the social media platform TikTok are set to change. Per a 2025 executive order, the U.S. branch of the company will have to be purchased by American investors. It will also have to be directed by a board of seven directors. According to Trump's social media advisor, Jack Advent, Barron Trump might just get a seat at the table. Speaking to the Daily Mail about the future of TikTok, Advent said, "Young people are overwhelmingly the user base of TikTok. I'm hopeful President Trump will consider appointing his son Barron and maybe other young Americans to TikTok's board to help ensure it remains an app young people want to keep using."

While Barron's future at TikTok is — for now — nothing more than an idea, Advent's suggestion could potentially come to fruition. It's believed that the president will play a major role in how the U.S. version of TikTok will be reshaped. As Trump told Americans in a TikTok video of his own, "To all those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big. And now you're looking at me in the Oval Office." If Barron gets a seat on the tech company's board of directors, he could quickly surpass Donald Trump's other children as the most influential member of the first family.
